Bring milk with oats to a boil over low heat.
Let simmer for about 5 minutes and stir occasionally. Remove the pot from the stove and let stand for 5 minutes to allow the oats to soak some more.

Peel and slice bananas. If the oatmeal is too thick, add some more water or milk.

Pour oatmeal into a bowl or deep plate and spread banana slices on top.

Sprinkle with coarsely chopped walnuts and cinnamon. Add honey to taste.
